To all CDUSA beta testers:
We've now made it possible to select "No Preference" for the LOCATION of
your match criteria, meaning you no longer have to limit by a particular
state or radius from your zip code. This has helped a LOT in not "limiting
your matches into oblivion", which is what seemed to be happening before.
If you have time, PLEASE continue to add data, and test the system. We are
releasing the beta
access to the client TODAY, but will continue to allow all you folks to
access it as well.
The client has asked me to pass along that FOR ANYONE ON THESE LISTS who
would
like it, you are eligible for free membership once the site launches. For
obvious reasons, we'll be clearing out all the current data when the site
launches, but if you would like a free membership, keep an eye out on the
list -- I'll be posting information on how to get your free membership when
the time draws near. You can also contact me directly.
Everyone appears to be having a LOT of fun, and I'd hate to see that end,
for sure! Keep up the good work, and THANK YOU for helping.
If you haven't yet logged in to this CF/Fusebox based website, information
appears below my signature. Whenever possible, try to enter realistic data
for your address and zip code, so that the searches on zip code radius can
be tested!

1. Go to the website at http://www.computerdatingusa.com/index.cfm. YOU
MUST USE THIS EXACT URL, or you'll get the public "coming soon" page at this
domain.
2. Go to the "join now" link at the top right.
3. Fill in your information and submit. USE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS PLEASE!
4. Receive your temporary password via email.
5. Go to the members area, and log in using your email address and
temporary password.
6. Complete your password change.
7. Complete your membership.
8. Complete your member profile. BE FUNNY if you like, but please no
vulgarity.
9. Complete your "match" profile. Again, BE FUNNY if you like, but PLEASE
no vulgarity.
10. Feel free to browse the member features, and even upload a funny photo.
11. The site membership supports uploads of video and audio clips, in .mpg
and .wav file format. It would be GREAT if you have the time to upload some
of those, too.
If you do not complete AT LEAST steps 1 through 9, the data will be
incomplete, and not useful to us. Any other areas you choose to use and
test for us would be greatly appreciated, but not absolutely necessary.
Lastly, this is a call for DATA; I am not asking you to beta test the site
for us. I just need a wide variety of data, men and women, from different
parts of the country. We are already aware that there are some user
interface issues to be addressed, as well as a few hidden bugs. HOWEVER --
if you should run into something that is really preventing you from creating
the data we've requested above, please contact me OFF LIST at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I will work quickly to fix any bugs that prevent the
collection of data. If you want to be REALLY kind, enter TWO members or
more. Perhaps one that describes you, and one that describes your
spouse/other/better half.... be creative, but again, please be "clean".
Your test data will be deleted after the beta test period with the client is
over. We will not reuse email addresses or any information you provide; it
is simply for testing and will be deleted when we are done testing. We're
shooting for 100 members in the test base, if possible.
