It looks like RoboCopy (Robust Copy), a part of the NT option pack is going

That would be ideal.  I have found some synchronization software, but it is
mostly manual process.  There has to be something out there for directory
replication in real time.

I'd say what you need is a 3rd server for holding nothing but images.
