Need to support Netscape & IE but not on macs

I looked at the following:

http://developer.irt.org/script/330.htm
http://www.tek-tips.com/gviewthread.cfm/lev2/4/lev3/32/pid/216/qid/21025/aui
d/11387
http://developer.netscape.com/viewsource/goodman_modal/goodman_modal.html

but none work when you start embedding them. I'm trying to write some kind
of timer that checks to see if a series of windows are open and then focuses
the one with the largest incrimental number ... but am struggling.

If you have control over browser, look at IE's OpenModalDialog (or
something like that)

Has anyone ever built an application that uses embedded modal windows?
Click a link in parent and a modal window opens that stays focused and
doesn't allow interaction with the parent. Then inside of modal window
click link that opens another modal window that stays focused and
doesn't allow interaction with any previous windows etc. etc.

I don't think using self.focus() or a variation thereof is going to cut
it and was wondering if anyone has any pointers to a solution?

Thanks,

Kevin Bridges
