I was hoping to keep it in house, since the site that I will be building 
will have quite a few pages.

I found  tag called CF_SiteSurfer and I think I'm going to take a look at 
it and see if I can build a native CF crawler.

In anycase, I think the lack of an easy to implement search is a great 
hinderence to Fusebox : (
