I was assuming it was the same reason you attach cfid/cftoken in a CF application, but I was wondering why it would be required in the URL for an otherwise static article. It doesn't seem logical to have a public article that requires a session to be instantiated and present in the URL just to read it. They must have some spiffy, I-will-decode-every-last-thought-of-yours, user-tracking software running in the background. Where's my tinfoil hat, I'm starting to get paranoid :)

Works like CF.  Either you’ll assume someone else’s session, or the session won’t exist (and the application will behave as it has been programmed if an expired session is encountered)

Hey, that's great! I had an OT question though. Do you happen to know the advantages of linking to an article with a sessionID in the URL? I wanted to email the actual first page to a few coworkers but noticed session variables in the link. I was just wondering what the significance of this would be, if any. Here's the link:
