How about an error code returned when the server is down, and then follow up
with your backup ro whatever other action you plan to take when it's down:

<cfcase value="do DBthingie">
    <cfinclude template="qryThingie.cfm">
    <cfif IsDBdown>
        <cfinclude template="dspErrorMessage.cfm">
    </cfif>
</cfcase>

or something like that

Of course you COULD use that other super-duper technique I showed you in
class a few weeks ago and then you'd be able to ....no, Hal, don't shoot! I
didn't mean to tell! I promise I'll nev.....

Subject: Proper FuseBox Method

the most reliable. Therefore, I want to be able to return an error code if
the server is down or not responding. Now as far as FuseBox goes, do I
create and send the error code in the query file where I figured out I
cannot get to the LDAP server or do I have to tie in an action file that
creates the error code?
