I always thought so too, however there are some rather steadfast people who have been here a long time and have little or no interest in the idea. I tend to think it would allow a larger user base to participate. Something about email lists just seems restrictive to me. People new to the scene don't really understand the concept too well. I know I didn't when I first came around.
In short I think it would be easier on the newbies and a lot of the vets who like a forum medium for discussion. Not to mention the issues with searching etc. Maybe someone will give it a try if only to shut up all the calls for it. -Shane -----Original Message----- From: Rob C [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, April 02, 2002 9:46 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Forum Suggestion Have to agree with that one. There are plenty of free forum services if that's an issue. It's just a matter of picking one, agreeing upon it, and informing everyone to use it. I would be happy to look into it if there is great interest. I would find it more efficient if this list converted to a threaded discussion forum, rather than an e-mail list. In my humble opinion, it's much easier to follow a threaded discussion forum and being selective on which threads fits ones interest. I know this would require some bandwidth on the administrators side, as well as server space but I thought I would throw in my two cents anyway ;) Alex ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?bUrFMa.bV0Kx9 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
