OK everyone.

It seems I was way overcomplicating things.

Again.

A cut and paste error led me to realize that if my subapplication has
the same application name as my FB3 app, it *can* read the parent app's
session vars. Obviously.

What I was thinking is that my static subapp wouldn't work unless it had
a separate application.cfm with a separate name. Because it was in a
directory underneath an FB3 app. But FB doesn't give a rat's arse about
calling files from within it in the old-fashioned way. I could put
random static cfm files in any directory and have a whole separate
application running amok in my fusebox app's dir without it even caring,
as long as I wasn't enforcing the index.cfm thing.

So when users log in, they are directed to the static subapp. If they
want to log out or do something else in the parent app, they just fully
qualify the href to the function they want. They will time out in
exactly the same way as normal. I don't *think* I am missing anything.

Sorry. But thanks for all your help! It certainly has been an
interesting conversation, hasn't it? I think I will use client vars next
time by the way.

By the way if I overlooking something huge please let me know.

Kay.
