Steve,

That's not quite right. The Steering committee votes members onto a
Standards committee and THEY are the ones that make the spec.

Subject: The Polls are Open

The nominations are in for the official Fusebox steering committee, and
the polls are now open. Please set aside some time, and put some
thought into your voting. The Fusebox steering committee will be in
charge of the official Fusebox specification. Any change requests to the
specification will go through this committee.

Here's how the voting works:

- Only members can vote, you can sign up to be a member at
http://www.fusebox.org.
- There are 13 spots on the steering committee up for grabs
- Each voter votes for 13 people, ranking their top choice number 1, and
their bottom choice number 13
- You can only vote once, so spend some time reviewing the nominees
before you vote.
- Voting will be open all week. The polls will close next monday, votes
will be tallied, and results released.
- The 13 seats will be offered to the 13 nominees with the highest
cumulative votes. That means 13 bottom choice votes (ie 13) are worth
the same as a single top choice vote (ie 1).
- If an elected person declines the seat on the committee, the next
runner up will be offered the spot. This will continue until all 13
seats are filled.

Good luck to the nominees, and let the voting begin! Go to
http://www.fusebox.org log in as an official fusebox member, and follow
the links on the home page.
