The browser shouldn't have any effect on processing time FB or not...bUT I've run into the same scenario...and it turned out to be the way my html tables were formulated...Netscape, prior to 6, is very, very slow in rendering certain layouts...
Can u try turning on debug and look at the page times?

Now when I access these pages with any Netscape version less than
Netscape 6 the pages take over 20-30 seconds to be display if they
display at all. All other browsers display the pages fine and when I
take the forms out of the fuseBox framework Netscape displays them
fine...Whats going on? Please Help
PS...I also receive errors when trying to access the FuseBox.Org members
logon page thru Netscape, the browser just shuts down
