As I understand it, it's not that you can't have dot notation, it's that dot-notated vars aren't stored as simple vars--they're automagically converted to structures (i.e., no formal struct declaration required) in MX. To be honest, I thought that's what CF5 was doing all along--guess I should look a little more closely under the hood . . . :)
