If you want the parent circuit to display a layout, you need to make
sure it's registered with FBX_Circuits:

<cfset Fusebox.Circuits.Gramps = "Grandparent" />
<cfset Fusebox.Circuits.SonnyBoy = "Grandparent/Parent" />
<cfset Fusebox.Circuits.Kiddo = "Grandparent/Parent/Child" />

Subject: Re: Layout Question

I think you misunderstood me but I fixed it anyway. I will elaborate
anyways just in case there is a better way and I just don't know of it.

grandparentDirectory
- has all the files necessary for survival :-)
- layout file displays header and footer

parentDirectory
- just fbx_layout.cfm and lay_defalut.cfm
- file pointed to by fbx_layout.cfm is lay_default.cfm
- layout file displays left sub-menu bar

childDirectory
- all files for this circuit
- layout file displays content on right side of left sub menu bar.

the parentDirectory was not a circuit for me. I just wanted it to add
on a layer to the layout to be used by all children of parent.

Is there any better way of doing this?

Thanks.
