Patrick, I think it is a legitimate programming style... but it is more like a way for someone who has programmed in a way that matches the way they can understand programs. It is definitely a style and NOT something that should be a part of the core standard. In fact there are some programmers (not a slam... just a way some learn) who didn't see the relationship between sections of the code as well as they did once they understood the model view controller. Now, in my opinion, are confusing a way of learning with a good idea.
