Outside US I think dd/mm/yyyy or yyyy/mm/dd are the most used.
I use dd/mm/yyyy because it's easy to hit the windows context
menu button (next to right-ctrl on most keyboards), then hit
the shortcut key for "Insert Date/Time" (D or S depending on
Studio version) and then hitting enter. So 3 keystrokes and
I get todays date.
