In my defense: 1. Believe me, it used to be worse (you're seeing a cleaned-up commit). 2. It's required because of the subtle play of dependencies (httpd-itk depends on httpd >= 2.4.7, CentOS 7 has 2.4.6, so I rebuild 2.4.10 from Fedora updates; then I need to rebuild PHP and a couple of Apache modules against that; fortunately, I can dispense with Subversion and reuse the existing package). 3. My understanding of the Bugzilla bug referenced in the comment is that once that "fixed" package enters the RHEL/CentOS updates repository, most of the ugliness will go away, and we'll be able to build httpd-itk against the official httpd, and thus avoid rebuilding other things. The testsuite is currently running on my local CentOS 7 VM. It hasn't reached the scm*-over-http tests yet, but at least the basics of the forge run fine.
