SOLVED NOW ..

Found:  http://search.cpan.org/~fusinv/FusionInventory-Agent-Task-ESX-2.2.1..
and installed it, so now I have a /usr/local/bin/fusioninventory-esx
..

Have now deleted the OS package ..

I think it would be a good idea to bundle fusioninventory along with all
these utilities both for OS install and for CPAN .. that will keep things
better coordinated ...
