This can be generalized somewhat, like so:

    var result = "";
    for (var i in FieldNames)
    {
      try
      {
        if (Field(FieldNames[i]))
        {
          if (count > 5)
            break;
          if (count)
            result += "<br>";
          result += Field(FieldNames[i]);
          count++;
        }
      }
      catch (e) {}
    }

    if (count > 0 && count < 5)
      result = "<br>" + result;
      
    return result;
