There is a 'Number to Currency Rule' helper dialog that should do this functionality you are requesting. When you create a new rule, make sure 'Text' is selected, and in the droplist below called 'Select a rule template' you will want to pick the 'Number to Currency Rule'. You then pick the options that you want and the field to apply it to.
