I think the most straight forward way is to preprocess the data. Suppose
one of the databases in Access, add a linked table (or several, as needed)
to the other database. Write a query that does the look up as needed,
making sure you save it. Export that query as a text file and use it that
file as needed.

This has the advantage of allowing you to observe the resulting data (and
any problems that may arise) outside of the FusionPro platform. This will
simply identifying and correcting issues if the happen.

Though FusionPro is highly flexible, in general I would always recommend
that you use a data specific tool to prep the data simply because specialize
in data. Excel, Access and SQL Server (if you are a M$ shop) can slice,
dice and prepare data well, and you probably have more organizational
knowledge in these tools (or find a contract with these easier) which
effectively expands what you can do.

Cheers.

Subject: [fusionpro] Lookup Table

All,

I have a client requesting that I setup a job that will require two
Databases for the job with one being a lookup table. Is this possible using
FusionPro? I will have a field in the merge data that will reference a
number in a field on the lookup database to que up certain variable fields
within that record.

Any info on this matter would be great.. Thanks!
