The issue you are describing sounds like you might be using a non-VDP optimized printstream from FusionPro with your digital print workflow. Are you by chance sending PDF to the RIP in front on the Docucolor? Our PDF output itself is optimized (each image is only in that PDF 1 time and then referenced wherever it is used in the file) but most RIPs cannot take advantage of PDF optimization - they process images at each and every occurrence while RIP'ing. To get around this, I suggest trying a different FusionPro output format. When you go to Compose, you'll see a selection of our 9 VDP optimized output formats in the "Output Format" drop-down list. Depending on your RIP, there's a best format to use. I believe the 3 RIP options in front of a Docucolor are a Creo Spire, an EFI Fiery, or a Xerox DocuSP Rip. Here's recommended FP output formats to try with whichever RIP you might have: Creo Spire - VPS, PPML, PDF (ensure you have the PDF optimization option turned on for the job on the Creo) EFI Fiery - PPML Xerox DocuSP - VIPP (if enabled on the RIP), PPML Good luck and let us know if we can help with anything else.
