We have an existing template for a job that uses a Pantone color for text.
This job was designed for PPML output (Fiery on a Xerox Igen), and worked
fine. However, we're looking at changing our workflow, and moving to VIPP
output.

When we change the output type, FusionPro reports no problems, but the
printer gives an error and fails to print the job. The error is:
"
Enhanced Xerox Postscript Error Handler

Error: undefined
Offending Command: C

The objects on the top of the Operand Stack were: 425 Pantone
"

If I change the text color to not use the Pantone 425 C, then it prints
correctly. I know we've used Pantone colors in other jobs, both VIPP and
PPML, with no problems. There have been other jobs that sometimes
wouldn't print to one output type, so we'd just switch to a different
output and if it worked, then print it that way. However, as we move
forward with trying to standardize a workflow, I'm wondering about the
differences between VIPP and PPML.

Has anyone else had problems switching between output types in general, or
any specific feedback on this error?

Thanks,

Paul Klingler
