This is not a request for help. I am just sharing my experience with a specific challenge. Hopefully it will save someone else some time thinking about how to solve a similar problem at some point.
We were presented a scanned copy of 1"x3.5" labels in a PDF (it was a lawyer who was concerned sending the raw data. don't ask). These were scanned 22-Up (two sheets of 11-up per page). We have the stock for 1.5"x4" labels (8x1-up) , and wanted to print the labels on those. Scaling to different degrees an each axis was not an option. To solve this I used the Adobe crop function to effectively select 1 label from each page (wash, rinse, repeat with all 22 different label positions), then export that position to a TIFF. This creates 1 TIFF per page (which is 1 label thanks to cropping). I then used DOS's Dir command to create a "manifest" of all the TIFFs. I Excel-jack the manifest so that instead of 1 file/column per line. umm. record, I have 8 files/columns per record. I use my new created data file with FusionPro, 8 (one per column) Insert Picture Rules, and layout an 8-Up page size to a sheet of the labels I am going to output. Because of how Acrobat and the Label Printer play together, I need to tweak the imposition settings (no, I didn't use FusionPro's separate Imposition util). A few tries with different x-offsets and the world is a better place. All and all the most time consuming and difficult part was making sure that I set the crop settings properly (and applied to all pages) for each pass, then named the output TIFF files correctly. Also, we are verifying all the labels because of the ease in only applying the crop to one page (you would get duplicates for all but that one page, and miss out on others).
