Robert, Try using a <br> tag in place of the new line character. This will force a line break.
You can also experiment with the <p> and </p> tag, with the phone number in the middle. <p> is paragraph tag, and this will put the phone number on a new paragraph line. This also may give you ability to skip printing of the phone number if it is empty. And also some formatting options in line spacing if you look up the tags for the formatting. Don't forget to return tagged text from your rule. Hope this helps.
