Yes, you can compose different output records to different folders.
First, you need to tell FusionPro to compose each record to its own
output file with the "Output to multiple files" setting on the Output
tab of the Composition Settings dialog. Set the number of records per
file to 1. It sounds like you're already doing this, though.
Then, you need to create a rule to change the location of the output
file. From the Rules dialog, click New, then select the Callback type,
and create the OnNewOutputFile rule. In the rule, you can set the
FusionPro.Composition.outputFileFullPathName property to whatever full
path and file name you like. You can call the CurrentRecordNumber()
function to make up the folder name for each set of output files.
You'll probably want to do something like this:
var NumRecordsPerFolder = 89;
var folderNum = Int((CurrentRecordNumber()-1) /
NumRecordsPerFolder) + 1;
var subRecordNum = CurrentRecordNumber() %
NumRecordsPerFolder || NumRecordsPerFolder;
// Or simply:
//var subRecordNum = CurrentRecordNumber();
// This is an example for Windows; Mac would need a Mac path:
FusionPro.Composition.outputFileFullPathName =
"C:\\scratch\\MultifolderTest\\" +
"Set_" + folderNum + "\\" + "Rec_" + subRecordNum + ".pdf";
// for validation
Print(FusionPro.Composition.outputFileFullPathName);
return FusionPro.Composition.outputFileFullPathName;
Please refer to the section titled "How to make each record its own file
whose name is based on a data field" in the FusionPro Rules System Guide
for more information.
