Hello everyone, An update of FusionPro for the Mac platform, FusionPro v5.1P2b, is now available!
The 5.1P2b release builds upon our support of applications, operating system versions, and Mac hardware configurations for the FusionPro Desktop product on the Mac platform. Supported software/hardware for this release is as follows: Intel-Mac and PowerPC Hardware Acrobat 7, 8 Quark 6.5, 7 InDesign CS2, CS3 Mac OS 10.4, 10.5 FusionPro Desktop 5.1 for Mac is a complementary upgrade to all FusionPro Desktop 5.x customers. Users of earlier versions of FusionPro Desktop (versions 3.0 through 4.2) can purchase an upgrade to version 5.1 for an upgrade price (currently $299) by visiting: https://fusionpro.printable.com/store/ You may download FusionPro 5.1 for Mac from the Printable website at: http://www.printable.com/downloads/fusionpro NOTE: FusionPro 5.1P2b for Mac does not support the following legacy application versions: Adobe Acrobat 6, Adobe InDesign CS, QuarkXPress 6.0, and Mac OS 10.3. A summer release of FusionPro will offer support for these legacy applications but in the meantime, customers requiring support of these applications can install FusionPro version 5.0. -------------------------------------------------- FusionPro 5.1 Release Notes -------------------------------------------------- For detailed information about the FusionPro 5.1 release including new features and known issues, please view the FusionPro 5.1 release notes at: http://files.printable.com/release_notes/fp_v5.1_releaseNotes.pdf Of particular importance, FusionPro 5.1 for Mac includes a change in how file paths are specified. The former HFS paths (colon separators for folders) are now specified as POSIX paths (slash separators for folders). While most file paths in templates will automatically be converted, paths in JavaScript rules may require users to alter their scripts. This path item is discussed in greater detail in the above release notes. -------------------------------------------------- Installing FusionPro 5.1 -------------------------------------------------- To install FusionPro 5.1 for Mac, please follow these steps: 1) Close Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and QuarkXPress if they are currently running 2) Uninstall your current version of FusionPro. 3) Once the un-install process is complete, launch the 5.1 installer program. 4) Use your current 5.0 serial number when prompted during installation. 5) After installation, open Adobe Acrobat and verify that the "FusionPro" menu is visible. This indicates that the installation process was successful. 6) If you use the FusionPro barcode fonts in your VDP templates, run a "Load Fonts" process by going to FusionPro -> Advanced -> Load Fonts If you experience any problems during installation, please contact FusionPro support at [EMAIL PROTECTED] -------------------------------------------------- FusionPro 5.1 Template Support in FusionPro Web -------------------------------------------------- FusionPro 5.1 templates are supported in the FusionPro Web product. FusionPro Web customers can therefore upgrade to the FusionPro 5.1 immediately. If you are a FusionPro Web customer and do not have a FusionPro 5.0 serial number (which is required for installation of FusionPro 5.1), please contact your CPM to discuss your eligibility in obtaining this serial number.
