Assuming you have the phone numbers coming in to you in this fashion, I
like to use regular expressions to break them up. Given the possible
formats that you listed, this might work for you. It's a bit rough, but
it should work. Just make sure you have the "treat as tagged text" checked
for the line break. You can change the separator character to anything
you like in the sepChar variable.

if (phoneNum.search(regMatch)>=0){
var areaCode = phoneNum.match(regMatch)[1];

var lastFour = phoneNum.match(regMatch)[3];
return areaCode + '<br/>' + firstThree + sepChar + lastFour;
}else{
return "Not a valid phone number.";
}
