FusionPro is a single-threaded application as opposed to a multi-threaded app. This means that a single composition will only run on a single core (or CPU in a multi-processor setup). That being said, we do offer VDP applications that can take advantage of multi-core/CPU machines for high production applications. Those applications are: ---FusionPro Direct--- This is a VDP engine that you can send compositions to from within the FP Desktop application (you'll see an option for this in the bottom of the composition dialog). While the base license of FusionPro Direct allows for 1 composition at a time, you can purchase additional "composition instances" which allows you to run multiple jobs simultaneously on the computer. The Windows OS then intelligently assigns each composition to a core/CPU where there is low load thus giving maximum performance. Note that we are running a special on FusionPro Direct this month where it is being offered for $2,995 (a 70% discount off of old pricing) as part of our "Celebrate 10k" promotion. The base FP Server license comes with 3 "composition instances" thus allowing for 3 simultaneous compositions of different jobs at the same time. To maximize composition speeds for single, higher-volume jobs being composed with FP Direct or FP Server, you can break that job into multiple pieces and compose those pieces simultaneously (take 30,000 records and compose in 3 batches of 10,000, for example).
