Is it possible to change the position of a graphic based on input data?

For example, I'd like to print a rectangle which bleeds off the edge of a
mail piece and step that rectangle to a new position each time the tray
number changes so that, after the piece is trimmed, I can look down the
trimmed edge and see a visual representation of where one tray ends and
another begins. I can also fan the contents of a tray and quickly see if a
piece is out of order by the position of the rectangle.

I have another job where the x,y position of a spot on the page needs to
change based on data contained in each record. The only way I can figure
to do this now is by placing 100 different spots on the page and replacing
99 of them with blank graphics for each record. There has to be a better
way.

I'm currently using Fusion Pro Desktop 4.2P1d. Are there features in the
newer version which might address this issue?
