Hello everyone,
Printable has released an update to the VDP software products -
FusionPro 5.8P1d for Windows. FusionPro 5.8P1d is an update from the
last official release of the FusionPro VDP products - version 5.8P1b.
Note that this is an update to the FusionPro Desktop, Direct, and Server
products.
FusionPro 5.8P1d for Windows has been tested and is compatible with the
FusionPro Web system.
Development is continuing on FusionPro 5.8 for the Mac platform. Once
we complete a few remaining tasks and finish QA testing, the Mac release
will be announced on this forum.
Note that the FusionPro 5.8 release has introduced 2 new pieces of
functionality:
- Unicode typesetting (to typeset the 8 new languages including
Chinese and Japanese)
- "Black only" crop marks
If you do not have a need for these new features, feel free to continue
using the next most current release of FusionPro - version 5.1.

FP-11006
JS function to return page count of a PDF document crashes server when
it is used in OnRecordStart combined with output chunking.
FP-11005
FusionPro Server issue. Bullet characters (and other special
characters) used in templates created with FusionPro Desktop 5.1 or
earlier are not appearing in FusionPro Server output.
FP-10998
Non-breaking space entity ( ) is getting replaced with a question
mark character.
FP-10977
Superscript and Subscript not outputting correctly.
FP-10965
JLYT output. Some objects on the page are misplaced.
FP-11002
FusionPro Direct. Errors given in some environments when FusionPro
5.8P1b was used to submit jobs to FusionPro Direct.

Printable is currently investigating an issue with FusionPro 5.8 where
certain fonts output text in all "dots" as opposed to the correct
characters. Once this issue is addressed, a new release of 5.8 will be
made available and announced on this forum.
