I have an alder creo RIP (CSX2000) but I assume the operation is the same in
all these: I have had a terrible time of it sending print jobs from my PC
(WinXP Pro) to the RIP. I have had a very easy time of it "outputing" the job
as a
saved VPS file. Then I use the "import job" utility from the RIP itself (it
has a console) to copy the job into one of the server's print queues.

The import utility allows you to put a job into a print queue in the RIP by
either copying from a CD (yes, physically taking it to the RIP and pulling off
it's CD drive) OR, if you are not into wasting time burning CDs, you can do
it by searching for the saved VPS over your network (be sure it's stored in a
shared drive!). Again, this is from the RIPs console using the import job
utility. My attempts to "print" VPS files like you would a regular pritn job to
a
regular printer inevitably end up in error messages!
