Hello all,
I recently have been starting to use the format 'jlt' for our Indigo,
and while it does work, there are some oddities about that particular
format that makes it different from a PDF.
The main trouble that I see is that pages do not get rendered in the
same fashion. I had a page with bleed and cropmarks around the edges
(supplied from the client, so I couldn't easily change this). I was
using an Imposition created with the FusionPro tool. Basically, what I
got was the PDF file had all the marks cropped out, so they were NOT
printing, yet the 'jlt' file, these marks were printing, and
unfortunately, they were printing inside the finished crop areas of
overlapping pieces.
Is there a reason why these two formats produce different results? I
can't see why I shouldn't be able to use the 'jlt' file, as it process
A LOT faster on our Indigo, as compared to the same PDF file. Do I
need to place these PDF files into another layout to crop out these
marks? Or is FusionPro capabile of doing this with some additional
setting?
Thanks,
Mike McGonagle
