What’s happening: When preparing for output choosing Postscript direct to printer. The print driver has been preconfigured to print booklets. But

What print driver? If you compose directly to PostScript file or to press via PS, then no driver is in the middle.

when Composing the file flat one sided sheets are what’s is printed. Also
tried saving as a PDF and then printing. It prints 1 big book. Also I
created a direct print hot folder and tried sending ps, pdf and also tried
to out put multiple files. The result was the same as before with the
addition of the out put multiple file would print one file correctly and then stop and wait for the next book to spool up. Well if you have any
ideas I would appreciate it.

I am a bit surprised that sending separate files did not work. Are you setting the defaults for the print queue on the press to do booklets?

The other approach it seems you have not tried yet is to inject specific PostScript Commands into the output stream. Achieving booklets in this fashion can be hard or impossible depending on what your press. You can sometimes get a clue by looking at the PPD for that particular press. Its my understanding from looking at the PPD that the KonicaMinolta 1050 has these capabilities.

So, here is what you can try:

1. Create a text file in the same directory as your FusionPro document with the following:

   << /Collate true >> setpagedevice
<< /Layout 1 >> /KMOptions /ProcSet findresource /setKMoptions get exec

2. Open your FusionPro Document
3. Compose, Choose Postscript, Save, Cancel
4. Advanced -> Page Media Select that text file for the start of "Page 1"

Then you should compose to one file and see if it works.
