These numbers are nowhere near equivalent. 21 cm =~ 8 inches, and it
seems to me that's a low estimate from other estimates I've heard.
Especially if, as this report claims, deserts will gain size at the
expense of rain forests, thus vastly decreasing the water holding
capacity of the land in the tropics, a significant reservoir of
water. I wonder what the correct number is...
