Not just capitalism, but *any* social group: Where is
there *any* group which bestows its best treats on
*outsiders*? Even in the Ultimate Utopian Meritocarcy of
Educational Testing Service, there must be the
Testors who are beyond-testing ["The Good is beyond
Being", as Plato and Levinas said...], above the Testees.
When did ETS let the world's college students design
the tests?
I think *some* of the problems with "cronyism" arise from the
lack of discriminating taste among the cronies ("I like
you because you're 'one of us', not because you're worthy
me liking you..."), and their
closed-mindedness to the possibility that admitting
some outsiders might genuinely enhance their shared
selfishness. As a Bank of New York ad once said:
If you do something very well,
