I would like to post a post of a friend of mine who doesn't have the time,
energy or inclination to become involved in this list but who, on occasion,
I include by cc of my postings.

The concept that these Ideas are somehow applicable is a false one.
The world's fate would seem to rest in the minds and hands of the Bronfmans
and Blacks rather than academia and the well intentioned.
The last 30 years should have at least taught us that. I appreciate
the time and effort that goes into these meetings and discussions..but
it would seem a fool's errand.
If you follow through the concept of world economic disaster ...It will
start
and end in 3rd and 2nd world countries ...not that it wont
create hardship for 20 or 30 or even 40 percent of us...real hardship
not just missing your preferred car or movie..But the country will handle
it
...and the industrialists will look as if the personally saved the
country..And the really rich and powerful will not even notice....
What struck me about this post was that it probably reflects the thinking
of many citizens. First we can't do anything. Second it will happen
somewhere else and third that we (in Canada and the US) can handle it. If
this is where the majority are sitting in their current thinking then we
have big problems.
Respectfully,
Thomas Lunde
