Thank you, Charles, for the cheer-leading efforts. You're doing great!

I will join you just as soon as I finish finals and the two projects that
are incomplete due to illness brought on by overextending myself and
working two jobs while enrolled in university full time! And then there's
Christmas, and a new grandchild to prepare for.......

Seriously, I am grateful for your efforts. I have recently read Marianne
Williamson's book "The Healing of America", and she says the same thing:
We are not powerless -- Do Something. I agree. Unfortunately, the good
neurotic that I am, I tend to want to do EVERYTHING and NOW, and my body is
now telling me that ain't possible. I need to pick my battles a little
more carefully. I will write letters, but not until after completing the
term paper on mountains and their significance in Chinese painting, and the
set of construction documents for a park that was due yesterday.

Revolutions take time, I think, if they are intelligently done. Keep
reminding us of our options, and our responsibilities to our own futures,
and we will be successful.

I would like to add my own vote here for the practical list discussions on
work and the economy. The academic go-rounds on theory are way over my
head, and I'm afraid I just delete them. Part of picking my battles, right?

Cheers,
Mary
