A while ago, I enquired about whether there was another list that dealt more
directly with the future of work.

I received a number of responses, mostly from persons who had formerly been
active participants, but were now just lurkers. There is a definite desire
for such a second list, but one does not seem to exist.

May I make a suggestion to the list owners that I think would work well.

There is or was another list, FW-L, which is relatively un-used.

My suggesion is that is be converted to a list with a more narrow focus than
the existing FW list, allowing the existing list to carry on as now.

All that is required is to announce the new purpose of the FW-L list.

To allow the list to operate without the need for moderation, the list
program should follow the lead of most up-to-date lists, and add a footer to
each message processed. This is a critical requirement if the new list is to
be successful

The footer would read:
"This discussion list focuses on work, jobs and incomes in the 21st century.
Articles, media news, editorials, and other such items should not be posted
to this list."

Hopefully, there is a registry of former participants who have unsubscribed
as the FW list changed. They could be informed of this new list. I suspect
many of them will subscribe. In the meantime, the current participants will
not be affected in ny way.
