Does anybody want to buy a better door latch? Seriously, I've designed a
spreadsheet contract costing analysis program that shows unions how they can
bargain for better work time. Because of the way unions operate, they are
very suspicious of "outsider" consultants offering advice on strategy. I
have a friend who is a prominent labour lawyer and he long ago learned that
his clients didn't want his strategic advice, only his legal counsel (and
they are even unhappy about having to pay for that, as if labour lawyers
should donate their services *pro bono* to "the cause").
