I think that this is an American thing.
It is caused by an inability to see the World as it is.
The vision is shattered by too many dreams.

In other parts of the World people know that they have got a life to
live, and they have got to do their best without getting to the stars,
and that is their pride. People are not so dissappointed and frustrated
as in America, and they do not feel so betrayed as Jay Hanson.

People were living in small groups for a very long time, and people who
live very close to few other persons can not go on successfully lying to
others for a long time. It is quite evident, I should think.
