This special section of the Joint Methodist-Presbyterian Public
Questions Committee website focuses on the effects of the reforms that have
swept over the country in the last 15 years like a biblical plague.

The Committee is concerned that economic missionaries are
travelling from Aotearoa New Zealand to other countries that have yet to be
converted to the ideology of economic rationalism. In their sermons to
foreign governments they will inevitably argue that salvation is only
possible if they follow a monetarist line, privatise their assets,
deregulate their economy, lower tariffs and so on.

The following resources are available to the opponents of
economic rationalism world-wide so that they can challenge the statement
which echoes around the world: "These reforms have earned New Zealand
economic success and so we will do the same."
