As long as capital - corporate in present times - dominates all branches of
government, approaching one or another branch with ideas of substantial
reform will only be positive if those reforms are part of a general,
democratic move towards all of government and not just one branch.
It isn't likely that we could bring about democratic justice for individuals
in a system whose executive and legislative institutions are still
createures of corporate capital. But any and all moves toward
democratization are positive and hopeful if part of a larger framework that
at least understands and accepts the need for more substantial change in the
roots of the system.
