Tom,
The problem could be, however, not that Hanson's focus is narrow but that
its too scary for the rest of us to think through the implications of a
world that is _crazily_ dependent on energy consumption. Yesterday, I was
replying to a question from Tom Abeles and found myself stumbling smack into
a Jay Hanson conclusion (actually an M. King Hubbert analysis, Hubbert being
the petroleum geophysicist who wrote the original stuff on production peaks
but also wrote an amazing piece in 1936 on "Man-hours and Distribution").
