Friday the votes among the members of The Confederation of Trade unions
(LO) was counted, and 64.4% voted in favour of strike.
About 45% of the total norwegian workforce are organized in LO. And
about 20% of the workforce is unionized in other trade unions which will
have their collective bargaining later this spring.

What does the newspapers write:
Dagbladet, one of Norway's three largest newspapers, has on its
front-page photos of the managing directors of the largest companies in
Norway saying: "These are the guilty ones", because they have increased
their wages a lot more than the workers.

And the Prime Minister says that he understands very well that the union
members have decided to strike, and that it is wrong that the bosses
have increased their income so much.

The strike is starting quite softly. Only one tenth of the members of LO
will be in strike the first days of the strike. Those are construction
workers and workers working in hotels and breweries and factories which
make sweets and snacks and in transportation and restaurants.

Later on more can join the strike. It is ecpected that the strike can
last for a long time.
