Ray,

It’s probably a good thing to dump students who get in the way of other students who want to learn.

I don't think it's necessary to dump the students who don't
want to learn --> just get them out of the way.

Persons need to understand sometimes that there are things of
value that they aren't up to. (E.g., It would be OK for Bush2
to admit he was incompetent and resign his office -- indeed,
that might be the best thing he could become capable of...)

One of the few "good" things about "my" prep school
was something the latin teacher did: He had a
cabinet full of reference books. Each class a different
student would be the looker-upper, including the
ones who did not want to learn. Only one thing was
not acceptable from them: to hurt one of the
books they had to handle.\

Years later, one of the students who did not want to
learn at the time came back to the latin teacher and
told him that now he did appreciate books, and he said it was
because of the latin teacher's class drill. (One
could also say this is a justification or religious
sacraments.)

Just thing of the good students for a while.
