Further to my last message and matters of castes and classes, there is a very interesting series starting in the NYT this week. The long and the hsort of it (I haven't assimilated it yet) is that class divisions are solidifying in America -- there is far less social movement as heretofore. A Hindu-like caste system seems to be developing. Not surprising when you think of the deteriorating intake system at Yale and Harvard -- less on ability and more on who your father is.
