Karen, A related piece was published in the NY Times on May 14 - A closer look at income mobility. The interactive charts are excellent and show just how strong the connection between education and income has become in our country. The connection between parental SES and income is also quite strong, but not to the same degree as education. This one graphic presents data in a number of different ways and should please almost all the different perspectives on Futurework because it can be interpreted in so many different ways.

The article and graphic can be found at http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/14/national/class/15MOBILITY-WEB.html?
Because of the interactivity of the graphics, I don't know if this one can be downloaded or presented in any other way.
