Our local news, probably global TV, broadcast a clip on the angry Katrina survivors upset about a few things. One was that food stamps were being issued, rather than a trust system that would have calmed people down way more. Who but survivors of Katrina would want the lousy food rations the US would be giving out? Louisiana Purchase cards were issued (good for up to $2000 credit), but only to about 4,000 people before they realized they could save money with the food stamps issue, and by direct deposits to people's bank accounts. Of course, many do not have bank accounts, so, once again, the wealthier folks are looked after first. Alphabetical order became the order of service, though people had lined up for hours/days to receive relief supplies. But the most amazing, though not surprising after reading Michael Rupert's (From The Wilderness) warning about FEEMA's little-known programs, was that Katrina survivors would be expected to offer up labour in return for relief supplies. Didn't hear the terms, but suddenly the TV set was exuding White House stench the likes of which brought to mind forced labour ideas of WWII.

Rupert is definitely a big mouth, has made money on Bush's insanity for sure, but I'm increasingly finding reason not to doubt his predictions. FEEMA is now in charge of the Gulf relief effort, and has ominous powers as it stands today. Giving it any more power, as is the temptation by a country disappointed in the W.H. handling of relief efforts--and US Imperialism/New World Order will openly unleash its grasp upon its own people. Chaos is coming if they don't pull up the reins on this one. Slave labour for the descendants of slaves and poor displaced folk will result in riots round the country.

But perhaps the news broadcast was released in error. Like the footage of the burning White House that I saw after 9/11.
