Agree with Brad.

Look at the terms "human capital" or "human resources"

At least with personnel there was a hint that humans and human concerns were
involved.

Now humans are interchangeable capital and resources. No pain. No tears. No
emotions. No problem.

Excellent article.

But when are "we" going to "get down to the basics", such as
applying the distinction between
a human being and a thing into our shared social
life: a human being is a co-subject of the discourse which
shapes shared social life, whereas a thing is a content that enters
into that discourse as an
object of deliberation/determination/etc. E.g., bosses
talk about what workers should do (or whether to outsource them. etc.).
Teachers talk about what students should do (or whether to flunk them
out, etc.).

Just one person's expression of frustration
and discouragement at a moment when his mouth and nostrils are
at least for more than a moment above water....
