Chris, do you have a citation for your quote from Kahane?
Re. the Christian Science Monitor: in fairness, the CSM has and deservedly
so one of the best reputations for reporting on the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, the Middle East, and the 'Third World.' The word "Christian" in
the name of the paper seems irrelevant when it comes at least to these
subjects. The CSM journalists that I have met are true journalists:
thoughtful, inquisitive, and relatively unbiased.
Re. influence on Pres. Bush: A major academic study has been published on
the Israeli lobby in the USA and how it works. Not surprisingly, it was met
with a furor of reaction. If anyone on this list would like me to email the
study and a selection of the responses, please let me know.

How big an issue is the "Jewish state" in the all-encompassing "War on
Terror" and the issue of Islamists ? I would reckon that Bahai, Buddhism
etc. are pretty irrelevant for that, but not Judaism. But perhaps the CSM
left this out because nobody has to mention the elephant in the livingroom.

As an expert on zionism (Rabbi Meir Kahane) put it:
"Democracy and Zionism cannot go together.
Western democracy has to be ruled out.
In a religious state, there can be no [freedom of speech]."
This should make us think about the implications of zionist influence
on Dubya and his fellow armageddonists. (PNAC, AIPAC etc.)
