Most of it is too idiosyncratic for anyone, and too much of it is so
unsorted as to not be worth the time it would take anyone to go through it.
I do, though, have some true collections, primarily of books, that took some
effort and years to assemble, and it is the break-up of these collections
that does concern me. My son's interests are professionally different than
mine, at least to the point where the content these collections is unlikely
to be of help to him, and the volume only a burden.

I have thought of specialized or academic libraries.

Isn't there even a graduate students "somewhere" who would be
interested in the stuff?  If you once found it of value, unless you now
consider it is no longer of value, maybe someone else would
find it of value -- not many, perhaps, but perhaps yet a "saving
remnant"?
